Asparagus Casserole

From Classic Home Cooking cookbook

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 cups cooked asparagus
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 1/4 cup buttered bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS
  1. Melt margarine, add flour and salt.
  2. Then stir in milk.
  3. When thick, add cheese, stirring until melted.
  4. Grease casserole dish.
  5. Put in half of the asparagus, half of the eggs, and half of the cheese sauce.
  6. Repeat.
  7. Put bread crumbs on the top.
  8. Bake in a 350 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
