Introduction:
This cookbook is a tribute to seventy-four years of service to the blind and-deaf-blind. It celebrates a service agency dedicated to giving help to the blind, and begun in the spirit of the universal brotherhood of all mankind. Since 1919 the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults, then known as the American Brotherhood for the Blind, has held fast to its belief in the brotherhood of all-that is, that its services are to be provided to all blindchildren, blind adults, elderly blind, and deaf-blind, without regard to race, sex, creed, or national origin.

Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, at the National Center for the Blind, all of the board members and officers of the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults are blind and receive no financial compensation for their services.
The recipes contained in this cookbook were originally submitted by blind and sighted individuals to a national Braille magazine for the blind. The special diabetic recipes were submitted from a national newspaper for blind diabetics.
