
INGREDIENTS
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 Tbsp. apple jelly
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 12 slices Texas toast bread
- 1/2 medium granny smith apple, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- Combine cream cheese, apple jelly, and ground cinnamon in small bowl.
- Lay 12 bread slices out. Spread top sides of bread slices evenly with cream-cheese mixture.
- Top 6 bread slices with a single layer of apple slices over cream cheese.
- Place remaining bread slices over apple slices, cream-cheese sides together, to create 6 apple sandwiches.
- Butter a 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Squeeze sandwiches into baking dish in single layer. Set aside.
- Add eggs and milk to small bowl and whisk together. Pour over apple sandwiches.
- Cover and chill 30 minutes. Turn sandwiches after 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400 F.
- Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Place apple sandwiches in sigle layer on cookie shhet. Remove any excess egg mixture.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Serve with Cinnamon Syrup.
